April 14, 201015 yr Newbies Was hoping for some help. I'm sure this is a checkbox somewhere, but I'm completely missing it. I have a webpub database that people are accessing. They have no problem logging in and seeing what I want them to see. Everything seems to be working. However, when I try and launch my FMPA11 local copy and access the file, it says that the license key is in use and my local copy closes. Any ideas on what might be causing this? I don't have anything shared to my IP via the sharing tab.
April 14, 201015 yr However, when I try and launch my FMPA11 local copy and access the file, it says that the license key is in use and my local copy closes. Then you must be hosting on another machine with the same license key - that's against the licensing rules.
April 14, 201015 yr Author Newbies I am not hosting it on another machine. The only PC I have my FMPA11 install is my PC. The database itself lives on my FMSA11 server. I would assume that people connecting via IWP would use the server's keys for the 100 max concurrent IWP sessions. Is this incorrect? Edited April 14, 201015 yr by Guest
April 14, 201015 yr Do you have more than one NIC card on your PC where you have FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced? Steven
April 15, 201015 yr This is often caused by having external file references that contain IP addresses. For files on server, there should be no IP addresses in the file references.
April 15, 201015 yr Author Newbies 1. The PC that has FMPA11 only has one NIC card. 2. There are no external links in the file itself. It's simply a mailing utility (click on this, grabs info and emails to the correct group). It's a stand alone DB and very simple.
April 16, 201015 yr Are you using multiple OS accounts in that PC and happen to be logged in as another user too (fast user switching)? If so the other account may have FM open...

Nevertheless, though it does not need them and should not have them, somebody COULD have created external file references. Have you looked?
May 7, 201015 yr ...Could it possibly be that this is a bug that FM might know about but hasn't formally addressed yet? I'm having similar problems. Tony :bang:
May 20, 201015 yr NEWS FROM FILEMAKER: Looks like this is a bug - I'm having the same issue using WinServer 2008 R2 on a quad quad zeon box. Here's where FileMaker Support sent me: http://forum-en.filemaker.com/t5/Report-a-bug/License-bug-with-IWP-amp-FMP-Advanced/m-p/64158/highlight/true#M7616 They asked me to post there, run some tests etc. I'll keep y'all posted of our progress. Guess it was a mistake to rush to live with this server upgrade! lol If anyone else is having these license conflicts, please post! Tony Martin :bang:
