September 9, 201015 yr How can I find all my unused scripts and table occurrences in my filemaker solution?
September 9, 201015 yr I, too, would like to hear suggestions. There is certainly no function to do so. I don't delete things. I put "xx" in front of things. Then, as I'm developing, these "xx" prefixes jump out at me and I deal with it. You can search the DDR for "xx" and print scripts to PDF and search them. Other than this type of tagging, I don't know of anyway to quickly identify the "unused." Here's a tool that I haven't personally used, but has received good reviews: http://fmnexus.com/InspectorLite.html
September 29, 201015 yr In large complicated solutions, I usually, do this on scripts I THINK no one is using (but I am not positive). put a dialog box at the beginning of the script telling the user it is no longer in use. Then put in a Send email script step to myself, letting me know of the error. Comment out the remainder of the script. Change the name of the sscript with a note and DATE. After a decent amount of time with not response, I delete it. For layouts, put a big obnoxious banner saying "Unused" and a 'on layout load' email like for scripts. This gives me the piece of mind, no one has used the script/layout for at least X time. Jerry
