Newbies lifelong Posted September 7, 2000 Newbies Posted September 7, 2000 We own two serial #'s for FileMaker Pro 4 on the mac, problem is... we need to use the second serial # on a second machine but someone misplaced the CD.. is there anyway to change the serial/license # on an already installed copy? thanks in advance...
LiveOak Posted September 8, 2000 Posted September 8, 2000 To the best of my knowledge, serial numbers must be entered at installation. -bd
Newbies Morten Posted September 10, 2000 Newbies Posted September 10, 2000 I had the same problem once - and I just did a custom install in another place on my harddisk with just the program and nothing more (with the new serialnumber). After that, I renamed my old Filemaker "Filemaker Old" and copied the newly installed program into the old folder. Then I opened the new program (which contains the serialnumber) - and when I was sure it worked, I deleted the old program and the newly installed folder. It worked with pref-files and stuff. quote: Originally posted by lifelong: We own two serial #'s for FileMaker Pro 4 on the mac, problem is... we need to use the second serial # on a second machine but someone misplaced the CD.. is there anyway to change the serial/license # on an already installed copy? thanks in advance...
