Newbies Ruth Posted October 9, 2000 Newbies Posted October 9, 2000 Any recommendations for easy faxing from Filemaker 4 using Windows 98. I used to do this very easily on the Mac using global village fax software - just hold down the apple key and file print turns into file fax. No such luck on new PC software it doesn't recognise Filemaker 4.0 at all. Any suggestions would be much appreciated
LiveOak Posted October 10, 2000 Posted October 10, 2000 I've done extensive work with faxing from FM mac with a couple of products. I've heard that WinFax can be used to send faxes from the PC version. I did a search on the FM website and came up with three plug-ins on the Win side of the world. Go to www.filemaker.com/products/search_plugins.html -bd
wildsicilian Posted February 24, 2001 Posted February 24, 2001 I have been using WinFax for 2 years with windows95 & 98. Ask Symantec which version you need (I think it's v10). When you select print, use the pull down menu to select "Winfax" as your printer. Everything is automatic from there on. I send 5-25 faxes per day with no problems from fp3 v4.13 or v4.03 or winfax. ------------------ Kathy Eldredge the Wild Sicilian
john.daly Posted February 24, 2001 Posted February 24, 2001 You often get free Fax software with your modem. I use SuperVoice from Pacific Image Communications that came with my modem and it jsut shows as an additional printer as kathy describes for WInFax. You should also be able to use Microsoft Fax although I've never doe this. Check in Microsft Outlook Help to find out how to set it up.
timalex Posted February 24, 2001 Posted February 24, 2001 Kathy When you say 'everything is automatic from there', what do you mean. I mean, where can I enter the destination for WINFAX? I tried a great plugin from Red Rock Software (http://www.redrocksoftware.com) - look under downloads, then plugins. Tim
