Make sure that you are using the latest revision of FMP 4, which is v3 on ALL machines. Secondly, it would be best to reinstall Filemaker on the machine having problems, possibly the Zip drivers as well. ------------------ =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Kurt Knippel Consultant Database Resources mailto:[email protected] http://www.database-resources.com =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=

Vaughan Posted November 2, 2000 Posted November 2, 2000 To avoid problems use FileMaker Pro's "Save a Copy As" command to duplicate the database onto the zip disk, rather than copying the file icon in the OS. One advantage of this is that you can select the "compressed" option so the file will take up less room on the disk. Using the Save a Copy As command also avoids the issue of duplicating a database file while it is opened. Though the copied file still might seem to work OK FileMaker Inc specifically warn against the practice. You could even spend a few moments and create a script to automate the process!
