Can any please tell me what is considered vital or a necessary free update/patch for an office running FMP 4.0v1? Thanks in advance.

I forgot to add a few things. I work in a small branch office on the east coast and have little contact with the home office on the west coast where all of our internal FM databases are hosted. I have recently been placed in charge of our software library for my location only and am trying to make sense of a lot of unclear or undocumented specifics regarding software I have little experience with as of yet.

Can I update the 10 or so Win98SE clients running in my office from FMP 4.0v1 to 4.0v2 to 4.0v3 without performing any updates on the systems at our west coast office which hosts the databases we would be accessing from this office? Or might we have any problems accessing these databases if I update this offices FMP versions without the same updates being performed on the host systems in the other office as well?

Also, is there an a free upgrade to version 4.1 from 4.0? If so, do I really want to upgrade (are there any real benefits to doing so)? Thanks again.

Jim

All (as in every last one) of your systems should be running the LATEST version of FMP v4. I think that 4.0v3 (or 4.1v3) is the latest and should be on every system.
