Cannot see databases shared with FMS 3.0 in "hosts"

Well,

The subject pretty much says it all. FMS 3.0 is installed on a WinNT SP6 computer. The server service start up fine, and all databases are opened.

Unfortunately, none of our clients can see the databases (or the server) as online when they click "Hosts" in the 'Open Database' box. Even when I manually define the host (type in the IP adress), it does not see the Server/Databases.

The Server PC performs well in other functions of the network and has the latest FMS patch installed.

Anybody have any idea what is causing this ?

Sounds like a pretty standard network problem. Can the client machines "ping" the server?

What version clients are they using -- only FMP3 and FMP4 work with Server 3. FMP5 clients are not compatible.
