Is FM3 server compatible with OS 9.x?

I would expect it is. Have not actually tried it. Clients that have machines new enough to need OS 9 generally have version 5 of FM. If your server will run OS 8.6, I'd stick with that instead of OS 9. -bd

I successfully run both client and server on Macs running OS 9. I prefer OS 9 for my servers. Connecting over a network via TCP/IP is greatly improved under OS 9.

If you do run OS 9, make sure it is OS 9.0.4. I don't have an opinion on 9.1 yet. Early reports showed some problems. -bd

Yes I agree. I might add that with any OS under which you run FM server, a lean OS free of non-apple extensions and contol panels and running only those absolutly necessary will increase stability and thus reliability of your solutions.
