Newbies rtuell Posted September 27, 2001 Newbies Posted September 27, 2001 Have a database setup on a Win2000 Pro systems. Connect remotely to this pc, create share, but when try to open Database says something along the lines that file can't be opened. Any help on this issue would be a great help. Thanks,
Kurt Knippel Posted September 28, 2001 Posted September 28, 2001 I am not sure that FMP 3.x is certified to run on Win2000. Might wanna check with Filemaker on this one, before delving into any possible problems with the configuration.
Vaughan Posted October 15, 2001 Posted October 15, 2001 You are using the machine as a file server and opening the database by double-clicking on the icon? That's the *worst* way to share a file. Create a FMP server. Then open the shared files through the Hosts button in the Open command. Or create a opener file (see the FAQs forum).
