Novell Client 32 & NT Problems

Featured Replies

I am currently running two main servers, Novell Client 32 & Windows NT. FM Server is being run on NT and Paradox made databases on Client 32. Users need to log onto both servers to use FM databases & Paradox databases and need to open them both on their PC's.

The problem is that I am getting calls from users stating that the Paradox system keeps locking up and causing FM to crash plus the PC. I have checked the specs of the machines, seems in order and made sure that they are running on 100mpb & TCP/IP. But I cannot find out what the problem is.

Has anyone out there experienced this problem? Has anyone got a solution?

If so please let me know.

Many Thanks

Do you have two separate servers, or one box running BOTH Paradox and FMP? If it's one box running both, that's the problem. Databases (in general) are very disk and processor intensive and don't share resources gladly.

Client 32 is on one server & NT on the other. I have re-looked into the problem - It is still happening. I do not know what it could be.

Are the users opening the FM files through the "Host" button or the file directly via directory?
