October 19, 200124 yr Newbies I managed to take over a client who uses filemaker 3.0v3 I believe. One of their guest machines locked up and they had to shut it down. The host machine still thinks this user is connected to it and will not close any files. I do not want to control+alt+delete it because I don't want to corrupt data. I don't have a fairly recent backup because the backup won't backup open files. Does anyone have any idea what I may be able to do to fix this?
October 20, 200124 yr You can try to restart the guest, then reconnect to the databases, then quit Filemaker on the guest. This MIGHT make the host think that the guest has closed the files. However most likely you will need to do a reboot. Data corruption is a risk, as is sharing databases without using a server application.
