Newbies leviathan Posted October 19, 2001 Newbies Posted October 19, 2001 I managed to take over a client who uses filemaker 3.0v3 I believe. One of their guest machines locked up and they had to shut it down. The host machine still thinks this user is connected to it and will not close any files. I do not want to control+alt+delete it because I don't want to corrupt data. I don't have a fairly recent backup because the backup won't backup open files. Does anyone have any idea what I may be able to do to fix this?
Kurt Knippel Posted October 20, 2001 Posted October 20, 2001 You can try to restart the guest, then reconnect to the databases, then quit Filemaker on the guest. This MIGHT make the host think that the guest has closed the files. However most likely you will need to do a reboot. Data corruption is a risk, as is sharing databases without using a server application.
