Dana G Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 I would like to know if there are any FileMaker "Runtime for Dummies" type documents available. I know nothing about creating runtime files and need a very elementary explaination. I know it's probably a very in-depth topic so I'd appreciate a litte assistance on a place to start. I've looked at the FM Help and it's a couple steps ahead of me. I have been asked to research FileMaker's ability to create a solution file for an end user that does not have FM client software. My assumption is that it would be a database file I create and then have them run in "kiosk mode". Please correct me if my understanding of this is wrong. The end user doesn't want to have to purchase FileMaker in order to use our solution.
comment Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Have you read the FileMaker® Pro 11 Advanced Development Guide that comes with the application?
Dana G Posted March 3, 2011 Author Posted March 3, 2011 No I have not. But this is what I needed. Thank you very much!
capsprojectos Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 No I have not. But this is what I needed. Thank you very much! You can find here: http://www.filemaker.com/help/html/fmpa_tools.24.21.html (Step by step) http://www.filemaker.com/help/html/fmpa_tools.24.20.html
bcooney Posted March 17, 2011 Posted March 17, 2011 Biggest thing to be aware of is that runtimes are NOT multi-user. There are other features that are not supported in runtimes as well: charts, Save as PDF...
