January 3, 201214 yr I have a Data base that can three variables for addresses. On the Company layout I can see all three and all is fine. But on my Address Layout I cannot see the Company name as a related field for quick reference. Why not? I can get it to work as a look up. I have included the file for reference. Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance

January 4, 201214 yr Author OK, Thanks for helping me there but now I have a new relationship issue. I have an expense line item record (actually a series of them that linked to a quote) Connecting to the dkt number and client all works fine. What I also want to do is choose the Vendor which I can do from a drop down list (works fine). But here is my problem. I then expect the Vendor Contact to auto fill and nothing happens. I made a special TO relationship but that didn't work. Should this not just be a straight forward connection that is already made? So every time I choose a company the related contact should show as I have already established? I just cannot wrap my head around this and keep stumbling along. The area in red is what is in question on the Expense layout page. I attached the new database file for reference. Also on a side note: Is it possible to go to a tabbed section on a particular layout through a script? I am assuming this should be possible, just cannot seem to access it. As always, thanks in advance,. The Missing Man Link_Issues.fp7.zip
January 4, 201214 yr Author I also just realized that although I am creating a new record for line item. My Vendor company all stay the same. When I create a new record and change my Vendor Company all the other records change to the new Vendor company as well. What's up with that? Should not the new record be independent of the others? When your green or green and I don't think I can get much greener.
January 4, 201214 yr What I also want to do is choose the Vendor which I can do from a drop down list (works fine). But here is my problem. I then expect the Vendor Contact to auto fill and nothing happens. There are two problems here: 1. You are using another TO of Company to link to ExpenseLineItems; this TO is not connected to Contacts. 2. Even if you attach another TO of Contacts in that area, you should still select the contact manually. A company can have many contacts, and a related field on the layout (like you have done) will always show the first contact of the selected company. Also on a side note: Is it possible to go to a tabbed section on a particular layout through a script? If you assign a name to the tab, you can use the Go to Object[] script step. change my Vendor Company all the other records change The field on the layout should be coming from the same TO that the layout is using. I'd suggest you streamline your names in order to minimize the chances of confusing the TO's.
