4Justme2 Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 I have two portals on the context of Staff layout. The first portal the enduser picks the program initiative and corresponding person. The second portal is used to display only those records above that correspond with ID_PROIN_fk=17. I tried a variety of different relationships and filtered the portal but get funky data every which way. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong? PortalFilter.zip
mr_vodka Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 cant pretend to fully understand what your purpose is here but why cant your second portal be a copy of your first portal but with the filter for 17?
4Justme2 Posted August 31, 2012 Author Posted August 31, 2012 I wasn't getting the right data... come to find out it was because my fields were pointing to the wrong table. But to answer your question. My table, Services2People contains 15 fields. Not all the fields are used in every scenario depending upon the type of service they may need to fill in 3 fields, another service type... 7 fields. I don't have enough room to place all 15 fields on one portal row and wouldn't want if I could since not all of those data fields are required in every time. I split the service table into 7 or 8 different tables... So my work-around was to allow the enduser to pick the participants from one portal and enter the additional data where appropriate in the specific filtered portal that applies to their need. If you can think of a better way I'd welcome any suggestions.
