Hello FileMaking fiends,

Just a quick question, Is Fp5 a relational database in the sense of say, Access or Oracle? If yes, How do you go about setting primary keys and the like in an FP5 database?

Thanks mio amigos

yes it is relational. If you have FM, then read at least the chapter on relationships in the Manual and i'd suggest getting The FM Bible or some such to use as well.

That's a pretty general question otherwise. The key fields are defined under File / Define Relationships.

It is much better than Access. You can have up to 50 databases in one solution, each with max OS file size limit.

You can start with single db and add more db and relations, self-relations and such. It is also much faster than Access and releases deleted space automatically. Everything is compatible since v. 1 -- I am still using data and bits and pieces from v. 1 and 2.
