Good afternooon everyone,

I need to import a list of results into FileMaker. I have to track two dates in regards to the list. The date that the companies in the results first appeared in the results (for now I’ll call it Date #1), but I also need to acknowledge the last date of importing (Date #2). For example, ABC company was first imported on January 3, 2013, but the last time it was imported (ie showed up in the results) was January 7, 2013. While, XYZ company first was imported on January 4, 2013 and was last imported on the January 9, 2013. For Date #1, creation date works fine. However, I am stumped as to what do for Date #2. I thought using modification date would work, but it didn’t. Of course the minute I change anything in the record, it updates modification date and that gives the false impression it was a recent import. The purpose of Date #1 is analytics and reference, the purpose of Date #2 is more so accuracy and relevance. Records will never be deleted, hence the need to have Date #2 updated each time a company is imported.

Thanks in advance!

The easiest way is probably to run a replace on Date #2 right after the import while you are still on the imported file set.

Thanks for the reply. So that would be something along the lines of:

Replace Field Contents (Date #2) with a current date function of some sorts?
