custom right-click menu in portal

Featured Replies

Is it possible to have a custom menu appear once the user right-clicks a portal row?

Custom Menu is a Developer creation that replaces the Default Menu of FileMaker.

Do you mean Conditional Value List?

a conditional value list would work. right now only 'cut', 'copy', and 'paste' appear.

I'm not understanding what you are asking. What are you wanting the user to be able to do, or not be able to do with the right click?

I think he's asking if there is a way to replace the default functionality of the right-click mouse button.  If that's the case then no, there is no way to replace it with Filemaker alone.  There are several plugins out there that will allow you to do this, although their names escape me at the moment.

Yeah, I got that by reading between the lines too. I would like to know what he wants to appear, if anything, and maybe there is a better way than a plugin.

Hmm . . . I wonder if the right mouse click can be captured. The action must generate some kind of code and if it could be captured then perhaps it could be manipulated by FileMaker. Just a thought.

I'm looking for options where the user can do things like delete the portal row, omit the row, open a new window to edit the row's values, etc. Using buttons on the portal rows to run these scripts takes up space, so a simple right-click on the row to display a separate menu that offers these commands is ideal.

If anyone can recall the names of the plug-ins that would be great. Cheers!

Why not just go to the Related Record and do the action there?
