I'd like to format phone numbers in the following way:

 

landline +12 1234 5678

 

cell/mobile (strip leading zero) +12 123 456 789

 

Any ideas how this could be achieved?

Your profile shows that you only have the Client version so you can not work with Custom Functions. However, some times you can just past the functions in your Calculation and it will work, unless the are recursive. Instead, check out the demo files at databaselpros

I'm working temporarily for a NGO that uses FileMaker Advanced, but I may also need to work on standard FileMaker in the future.

 

I haven't developed in FileMaker for about 10 years but its like catching up with an old friend.

Once you use Advance, you will have a hard time going back to client.

I'm with Lee on this. Ya can't go back. I can't imagine. I don't even remember all the differences and take for granted things like custom menus. Imagine designing without them!
