RyanESmith7 Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 I feel stupid for asking this, but I can't get my simple SQL statement to execute properly. Here is what I have: ExecuteSQL ( "SELECT SUM("Sale Amount") FROM Jobs"; ""; "") Jobs::Sale Amount is a number field, nothing special. What am I doing wrong? I get the dreaded "?" as a result. Thank you, Ryan
RyanESmith7 Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Why was this moved? This isn't a calculation problem, it is an FQL problem.
Lee Smith Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 Are you sure it was moved? I don't see any notification of that action being done. If we move your topic, we send you a notification and a copy of it is posted to the thread. Also, since I'm the one that usually moves the topics, I can assure that I did NOT move this one. I will move this to the SQL topic area not. Lee Automatic messageThis topic has been moved from "Calculation Engine (Define Fields)" to "FQL or FileMaker Query Language".
RyanESmith7 Posted October 3, 2013 Author Posted October 3, 2013 Yessir, it was moved by bcooney at 6:46am today. Thank you for moving it back, Lee. And... nevermind... spent some more time on this this morning and there was nothing wrong with the query. The field in the DB had some bad data in it.
Lee Smith Posted October 3, 2013 Posted October 3, 2013 That is interesting, I guess that she deleted the post to the Tread? I wonder why? It should remain as part of the thread so that we will know that you didn't multiple post your question. Glad you found a solution to your question.
bcooney Posted October 6, 2013 Posted October 6, 2013 Hi All, Yes, I moved this because it IS a calculation problem, since ExecuteSQL ( ) is a FileMaker function. FQL, I believe, is what is used by plugins. -Barbara I'll leave the moving to Lee.
