Hi

I have been trying unsuccessfully to use the ExecuteSQL to select from a Microsoft SQL table added via ODBC.

Should I be able to do this? or am I barking up the wrong tree!!

Thanks in advance

ExecuteSQL function or Script Step?

Function: only works if you have ESS set up, but it is not a good idea, it is going to be very slow

Script Step: it does not support "SELECT", it is there for pushing data into the ODBC source.  The "Import Records [ODBC source" is there for selecting records.

Thanks Wim.

I was trying to use the function.

I had the ESS added but it was not behaving.

Perhaps it was just too big a dataset, around 9million records.

I thought it would be faster.

I have just gone back to what I know and used relationships to the ESS tables.

Thanks again

Stephen
