comment Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 The image is embedded in the file yes but not the graphics file. It is embedded in the text block as a graphic and FM is smart enough to embed the image only once. ... I believe it also has a lighter footprint (being text) Okay, I see what you mean (do I?). But it's still a bitmap graphic pasted into a text block. Then it's being replicated as many times as needed (that's what "tiling" means) - so in case of a solid color, you only need to paste a 1x1 pixel block. That's a quite light footprint indeed, but it is not text. And if I do see correctly what you mean, then you cannot do round corners or a circle with it. So, pros and cons...
LaRetta Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Yes, I think we are on same page then. Actually it will do circles and rounded corners from pasting in a 1-pt-square and when button is attached and pressed, the circle is all that highlights (no corners) on press or hover. 13 is beautiful. And for icons, they have transparent backgrounds and act like any other button with only their colorised interiors highlighting. In creating my icons, I had them on tile since that was the default; thank you for correcting it. I hadn't yet tested the other options with them. I was more anxious to get on to WebDirect and WAN testing with them. Even in a small file, I can tell the difference! I plan to crank it up and run some heavy tests. Ideas, warnings etc always appreciated. I had to laugh ... I actually have plans to have someone with graphics background go over my colours and layout placement and optimise any images once I nailed down the process. And I wanted something which would be lean and work from all devices. Thank you, Charity, for the timing of your post since I realised it might give me what I have wanted as well. edited: ps, I get a nice circle whether I use Scale To Fill or Tile. If I set it to Slice then it goes square on me.
LaRetta Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 BTW, I was also thinking I wonder if it would stress the system or cause display issues in WebDirect if we stacked the five bar colours and set them to hide so only the one selected theme colour would display at any given time. Just thinking out loud of course. I'm most certainly a nerd ... Christmas eve (I think) and I'm playing FM.

Charity Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 This is a great subject and one I am completely excited about. Thank you all so much for helping me with it. I actually like this stuff so much I would pay someone to let me do it for them. Kidding of course but almost. And I will do it for free for myself. I would rather do this than just about anything regardless how many people make fun of me for it.
