Newbies Roelf Posted December 5, 2013 Newbies Posted December 5, 2013 I periodically duplicate a layout and then tie to a new table occurrence related to the original base table. I find that I have to go through and mechancially update each field on the duplicated layout to refer to the new TO even though the fields are exaclty the same corresponding fields that originally referred to the source TO that I duplicated It is a mechanical task that drives me a little buggy. Is there some way of saying in one command "update all these fields on this new layout tied to this new TO to actually refer to this new TO or do I have to continue to do it field by field in the mechanical fashion that I am currently employing? Ocean West Posted December 5, 2013 Posted December 5, 2013 Yes here is a technique. Copy all Objects from SOURCE Layout On your Relationship Graph - Rename the SORUCE occurrence to something else. Rename the TARGET TO to the same name as the SOURCE one Go to the new layout based on the renamed TARGET Paste objects Restore the names in the Graph to their original state. The objects pasted will be tied to the new Layout

Why do you find yourself in need of periodical change of schema? A schema should remain permanent in the routine operation of a solution.
