I am not sure what are the macros defined in Filemaker. But I have came across a macro in Filemaker called - other which is equals to numeric value 10.

i.e. other = 10

* This macro is case insensitive.

e.g. other = Other = OTHER = 10

Use double quote ("") to use the text value for those text that are used as macros in FileMaker to avoid data error in calculation as well as in scripting.

So be aware of using such texts like OTHER, while doing scripting in FileMaker. Please share if anybody else came across such MACROS in Filemaker.

Manjit

Hi Manjit

I moved your thread from "FileMaker Developers Conference" to "Member Lounge” because. the FileMaker Developers Conference Topic is reserved for discussion of the annual event. The description for the this Topic reads "Discussing the annual Devcon, including travel arrangements and associated events.

Need to find a roommate?"

This topic areas seems to be what your were looking for anyway.

Let me know if you have a better topic area in mind via Private Message.

Manjit,

As Kris pointed you to, there are Reserved Words in FM. They are assigned a numeric value in the calculation engine, so that the calc engine can easily pass parameters to itself as it performs the requested operations.
