in Filemaker.. how can I test Filemaker station 1 up 1st..

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a peer to peer 2 stations... win7 FM-12  adv station 1 running the FM code..

station 2 is open remote

How can I test if Station1 is trying to do some test,    but I do not want station 2 do test

Or if a FM user logs on as a Remote,     to know a remote user vs/ loading operator the app

I do not want remotes stations  to do something

Only certain action be perform from originating FM application loading station 1

Any ideas,    didn't know where to put this question

TIA

Rod, I'm having a hard time understanding the question. Perhaps you could be more specific. What test would station 1 be running? "a remote user vs/ loading operator the app". Not clear what you mean.

Rod,

Is it more important for the logged in user to be able to run the "test"? Or does it really need to be tied to the machine itself?

If to the user: you can test for the "account name".

If to the machine: you could test for the User ( which is set in edit menu ) AND the privilege set. Both his important here, so that someone can't change their "User" name and gain all kinds of new power. ;)
