tobi Posted May 17, 2002 Posted May 17, 2002 Hi everyone I enter to db with following link: "FMPro?-db=Berichterstattung&-Format=nVerzeichnisse/FM/Berichterstattung/BerichtRedirect.html&-findall". The "BerichtRedirect.html" redirects to: "[FMP-link: ra]&-Format=nVerzeichnisse/FM/Berichterstattung/BerichtListe.html&-lay=CDML&-skip=0&-max=25&-token.0=25&-token.3=[FMP-currentDate]&-findall" (This Redirect is not the Problem. I have do to it, to get the currentdate). Every things ok on PC, with IE5, on Mac Netscape and OSX on Mac. But on Mac OS9.21, IE5 the Browser-Window stays blank. It hangs in status receiving data. If I define the -max smaller then 25 it works. Bigger than 24 it hangs... Any Ideas?
IdealData Posted May 17, 2002 Posted May 17, 2002 Make sure you are on the latest web companion. For FMP 5.0 - version 5.0.6 For FMP 5.5 - version 5.5.4 Get them on download from www.filemaker.com
tobi Posted May 17, 2002 Author Posted May 17, 2002 I am working with FileMaker 5.0 with web companion 5.0.6
IdealData Posted May 17, 2002 Posted May 17, 2002 Looks like OS 9.2.1 is the culprit. I've read many instances of problems in there. 9.1 is much more stable, or go to 9.2.2. Incidentally, does any of the FM HTML work on that machine ?
scratchmalogicalwax Posted May 19, 2002 Posted May 19, 2002 I've always found IE 5 flakey on Mac OS. I've found 5.1 i a bit better and keeping the browser cache and history clear on 5.0 can improve reliability. I clear both every time I start the browser. NB I have used it with 9, 9.0.4, 9.1, and 9.2.x ....... 9.2.1 is worse than the others
tobi Posted May 21, 2002 Author Posted May 21, 2002 I think, the problem is not the version of OS. I tryed it with any different os
IdealData Posted May 21, 2002 Posted May 21, 2002 How about emptying the cache for IE5. I find it hard to imagine the problem is unique to a single machine.
tobi Posted May 21, 2002 Author Posted May 21, 2002 The cache was my first suspicion. I even deleted the cache-file. It helped to that extent that IE accepted 24 and not only about 10 records (and the problem persists on different machines). I also tryed to set the cache to 0 or to 50MB. No difference...
scratchmalogicalwax Posted May 22, 2002 Posted May 22, 2002 You really need to get an IP watcher installed on your mac to see what is going on "behind the scenes". It will display line by line the data sent to your machine as a result of your request. This will help to narrow down the possibilities, at the moment it is very difficult to put a finger on where the problem could be with any certainty. I have personally found the latest 5.1 better but every Mac is different as is every problem.
