Sending a slick reports/forms by Email!!!

Featured Replies

Has anyone managed to send a slick looking email showing portal data, like for example an invoice, or a purchase order.

I've looked at a few plugins, which are good at what they do but I've found limitations.

I want to press a button 'email' and thats it no more prompts, popups etc, just a message says hey or ney.

The email address is taken from a field

The email content is made up of a header showing the company logo etc, and then content is exactly how you would layout a printed copy.

I was hoping they may be a print to email plugin or similar that does the job.

Any suggestions

Thanks

Mark

I think you might want to look into CDML. If your recipients have HTML capable email (most do by now), you can just format your email to contain the FM data you would like, put the text of the HTML/CDML in a global (or a calculated field) and then use the ScriptMaker send email command.

If you are a Mac User, there is an great utility called PrintToPDF. You can just print a report or a screen and send the output to the email address. I not sure how scriptable this is, but reports (can) look great and are very emailable.

Hi Mark,

I use the SMTPit Plugin by community networking systems http://www.cnsplugins.com

It does exactly what you require.

Obviously, you need to spend some time creating the layout for the email, but once that is done, click a button and it says yeh or ney.

Alternatively, how about PDF.

PrintToPDF is a great product. It integrates pretty well. To send PRINTABLE reports via email, your only choice is really pdf format. HTML/CDML will display a decent report, but how it prints is pretty variable with the system, printer and browser involved.
