Principal Analyst (226 Days) Position Type: Central Staff/Analyst Closing Date: Until Filled Date Posted: 1/17/2016 Location: Food & Child Nutrition Services Position Purpose: Manage, develop and support Food & Child Nutrition Services technology systems. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience Eight years experience including designing and modifying software applications based upon analysis of user requirements and programming Demonstrated background with software systems such as FileMaker, Microsoft SQL Server and Business Analytics software such as RStudio, Tableau or Qlikview Demonstrated experience in inerface design and strong understanding of data analysis Demonstrated strong understanding of relational database design Demonstrated experience with gathering requirements, cost estimating and scope preparation for application development projects Demonstrated endeavor to continue to learn and understand the customer's business, taking a proactive course in forecasting and planning for their future needs Demonstrated proficiency in developing statistical reports, graphs and dashboards Demonstrated ability to work independently; on a team and in a fast paced environment Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously Demonstrated excellent troubleshooting and customer service skills Demonstrated ability to adapt to change through the lifecycle of a project Demonstrated orgnizational, prioritization, communication and interpersonal skills required to achieve the goals of this position Ability to communicate in English by speaking, reading and writing Basic Functions: Provide database development and management for FileMaker Pro and Microsoft SQL Design, develop, service and tune FileMaker databases Provide database development and management for Business Analytics software Develop user friendly and intuitive applications with Business Analytics software to display reports, graphs and metrics Document operational configurations, processes and procedures Establish and maintain security and integrity controls Address full range of programming and database problems and solve those problems with minimal supervision Investigate and resolve database alerts and events, escalating issues as appropriate Identify reasurements and methods for gauging database performance Ensure availability of database systems Create and maintain documentation and standard operating procedures in relation to database usage and management Must ocassionally travel to other facilities within the district Frequently required to lift or exert force of 25 to 100 pounds Perform all other duties as assigned All federally funded incumbents of this position must comply with time and effort reporting requirements through personnel activity reports or periodic certification, as appropriate Minimum Salary: Salary will be determined according to experience Selected individuals for Dallas Independent School District positions will be placed according to compensation guidelines.
