For years we had the XOAuth2Bearer option in our CURL functions for our plugins. Any customer asking for how to use oAuth with Microsoft or Gmail got pointed to this property. Register an application with Microsoft or Google to get your client ID & secret. Then show a login screen in a browser for the user to login and grab the token. Next to your container fields in iOS, you can show a button to insert a picture from the photo libraries. If you'd do this with our older ImagePicker functions, you may get a dialog about permissions to access the photos library. The new PhotoPicker functions allow you to access a dialog to pick photos from your app without such a dialog. The dialog runs as part of a background app included with iOS, which has all the permissions needed. It can show the whole photo library without your application having access to it. You like to have a FileMaker Server on the go with your Macbook (Pro) M1 or M2? Install Parallels and let it install Windows 11. Within the ARM version of Windows 11, you can install FileMaker Pro 19.5 and it seems to work fine. Since there is no native version for ARM64, the application runs in emulation within Windows. You can also install FileMaker Server. Running a FMS on Windows 11 and not Windows Server 2016 or 2019 is not really supported, but can work. The installer will complain about missing Internet Information Services and Application Request Routing. For years we have nice goodies for FileMaker developers on macOS and now we got one for Windows: You can search within a relationship with a search field: I tried for years to do something there. But when the plugin asks Windows about what is on the window, the OS would say: zero controls. We resolved the problems we had with Claris Server and now our plugin works there. If you have a Claris Pro or Server, feel free to later try the 12.5pr4 version of MBS Plugin. On the licensing we got asked if we sell Claris Pro/Server plugin separately. What a terrific business idea! But no, we don't ask for extra money to move from FileMaker to Claris. Just make sure you have a recent license, which includes 12.5 (or later), so you can use our current plugin versions. Usually you get a CSV file as an export from some other database, e.g. a list of sales. Read Textfile If you like to read a text file, you can simply use our Text.ReadTextFile function. A cool new thing comes with the MBS FileMaker Plugin 12.3 for us: You can connect in FileMaker to a Mongo DB server and create on this server databases, collections and documents with various functions, search in documents and delete them as needed. The special thing about Mongo DB is that it is not a relational database based on tables and relations, but its data has a JSON like structure. For MBS Plugin 12.4 we implemented a long standing wish from various FileMaker developers: Code Folding. As you know our plugin highlights matching script lines for If and Loop blocks. So you see what lines belongs to what other line. Now when we detect such a block, we add a little control on the between the line number and the text. You can click that control to hide some lines and later click it again to show them. When you save the script, FileMaker reloads it or you start dragging a line, all lines show again. In this article we want to introduce you the new functions from the MBS FileMaker Plugin in version 12.2. Error Count for MBS functions For years we already have the isError function in the MBS FileMaker Plugin. We can call this after a MBS function to see if the previous MBS function returned an error. If you use many MBS functions in a script this can get confusing and it might be enough for you, e.g. if you are testing a script, to know if a plugin function in the whole script throws an error at all. For this we have developed two new functions. With the HadErrors function you get back the number that is currently in the error counter. This will be incremented…

At the dotfmp conference we got a nice idea for a feature: MBS FileMaker Plugin already scans script lines to find missing variables and show a little warning for undeclared variables. We added the feature to scan for comments containing URLs. If we find an URL, we add a little button to the end of the line, which currently shows an arrow and a globe: You may click on the line to select it and then click on the control we add.
