Question: by reggies » Mon Mar 22, 2010 11:46 pm Hi. I was wondering how I can create a new related table to connect with the menu navigation bar at the top. My goal is to change the tabs on the navigation bar to the tables I use most often. (Some of which need to be renamed or created) i.e. It would look like this (Bands Contacts Staff Calendar Orders etc...) I thought it would be as easy as duplicating the Accounts table, changing the Primary ID to id band and adding and relating the table occurrences. Everything seems to of worked except the system preferences show as unrelated, thus the System Logo will not appear. Also the Band name and band type will not sho…

Question: by drbanks » Fri Aug 22, 2014 11:13 am When using the staff module, if a staff member is already in the contact list do I still have to re-enter all that contacts personal data? It seems so. Answer: The staff section is specifically designed for your internal staff...and contacts are for customers, or a similar use. There is no cross connection between these two... in terms of moving data back and forth. You can assign a staff to a contact. - RC

As the title implies, I need a step in a script that allows me to check if the tag is in fact a word. Context: Creating a script to import pdf documents into a FM DB. Using Applescript, selecting PDF's text, converting to list of all words and sending this to a FM DB record as well as the PDF's name and location in finder. Script then imports the PDF to a container field for future reference. List of words are then set as documents tags. After import can search tags and show related documents. Problem: Problem is OCR is not perfect. Can get strings of greksfhqr[oif or wordsmashedtogether both of which are treated as a word. I need to check is the string i…

Hi All, I'm running youth theatre school and I'm very new to filemaker but making some good progress using FM Starting Point. An issue I have is I invoice all accounts 3x a year and they all pay the same amount unless on a scholarship so individule invoice of 200 plus contacts is time consuming and almost a little wasteful when they are all paying the same. Dose anyone have any idea of a script where I can populate and print/email invoices for all the accounts on my database and a way of excluding certain members if they are on a scholarship? Many Thanks for your help in advance. Eddie. P.S I'm very keen to learn and understand from all help so if you…
