  1. I have just set up a new Filemaker Web Server system Filemaker server is running on one machine with all of the databases This is a secured server. Filemaker Unlimited and Web Companion are running on another machine. The databases are remotely opened using Unlimited and the web pages are placed in the Unlimited Web folder. Now the problem: When you try to access the databases through the web ie. https://webaddress/foldername/FMPro?-db=databasename.fp5&-lay=layoutname&-format=file.htm&-view I get an error message that says format file not found. I can run it locally and it works fine but on the web server it fails. I have read other posts and cannot seem to find a sollution. It is now getting urgent that it work. It is time sensative information. Sherry
  2. Here is my problem: I have two databases. DB1 has a field with a calculation that creates available dates. DB2 has a field with a valuelist created from the related field in DB1. DB2 is served to the web using CDML. Every field works except the related value list nothing appears on the web site. This happens to be the most crucial part of the database. I cannot have a static valuelist because the dates change and can only appear if they are available. Everything works fine in the data files but not on the web where it needs to work. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Sherry
  3. I have two related databases that allow for items to be checked in and out. One database holds the item inventory and the other is a user list. As items are checked out they are added to the users list of current items out and theusers name is added to the item inventory. They work great but when an item is Checked In it is deleted from the users account. I would like to create a history file that would list all of the items that the user has ever taken out. I cannot seem to do this without the information disappearing when items are checked in. I have tried various relationships and editing the script to set a field in a different database to a value when the item is checked out. I am not sure if I should be using a lookup. I have a portal to keep the history but that is as far as I can make it work. Any suggestions?
  4. I have two databases that are related to each other by an ID number. One is a list of videos and the other is a checkout database. Everything works fine for checking videos in and out. My next task however is to create a history of the videos checked out by faculty. Currently when a video is check back in, the title is removed from the list of videos that the faculty have out. I have tried using the Lookup option which I thought would work but it also removes from the list any videos that have been returned. My ultimate goal is to have a list of all videos that any particular faculty has taken out and possibly a list of how frequently a video is used. Thanks Sherry
  5. I currently use Claris Homepage to create the CDML needed for hosting our databases on the web. I know that this is no longer supported and although everything is working well and the sollution is not difficult to use, I am looking for a replacement. I am not sure if Lasso is that replacement. I would like to know how difficult it is to use Lasso to generate the CDML that Claris does. If so, which of Lasso's many products is the right sollution. I am looking for ease of use. We will potentially be having novice FM users creating database that are web enabled. Thanks Sherry
  6. Thank you!! It worked. I had set up a "no password" access to the DB but I did not assign it to a group. I love this program but boy is it picky!! Thank you again! I am so glad that this forum is here!!! : ) Sherry A very happy camper!

  8. I have tried all of the suggestions. I even recreated the pages using Claris HomePage. I still get a new record with NO data. I am getting desparate. It has to be up and running by Friday. Do you have any other suggestions? It seems to be receiving the record and not posting any data. I have made the "space" errors in the past and usually received an error message. This time I do not get an error message just no data.

  11. I have created about 5 different FMPro databases using web companion. They all work very well and when I submit a record it is recorded. Now for the problem. The last online registration database that I created looks fine and tells me that a new record has been added and IN FACT a new record is added to the database. Unfortunately there in NO data in the record. Nothing appears at all. Any suggestions?
  12. Thank you all. I have taken out the IP address but the next question is this... The IP address shows up as part of the web site. How can I prevent that? AND Do any of you have a suggestion for protecting the database? My databases are search only and entry only. I do not want every user to have a password. I do not know who the users may be if they are registering for a workshop. My two options seem to be: FileMaker Pro Access Privileges or Web Security Database Is one better than the other? Any other suggestions???
  13. Thanks for the warning but a more effective approach would be to explain how to protect the database instead of proving that you are in fact one of those HACKERS. Point taken!!!!
  14. Thank you to all of you for your help. I was finally able to make it work. It turned out to be spaces left after a field name. What a mess. Thank goodness that this forum is available. Sherry
  15. I went back and renamed everything and verified all of the spelling. I am still getting the # 102 error. If you have any other suggests I am all ears.
