  1. Hello, Can anyone help? I am trying to test IWP. If I use http://10.0.0.1:591, I will get the IWP page and can run the the application. But if I replace 10.0.0.1 with my IP , then it times out. Should I be able to use my IP to test on my computer or will I have to go to another sites computer ? Thanks in advance
  2. Yes , That is a good thing about FileMaker Pro 8.5 , I can install it on my XP laptop as well from the same CD.
  3. Thanks Vaughan, I guess that compares, sizewise with Java Runtime and is less than .net I want to develop on Mac and deploy on Windows, hence FM
  4. Hi , Does the runtime make one file that includes the .fp7 file ? If my .fp7 file is 300K then what size is the runtime solution? Thanks in advance

  11. I went into my router settings and set UDP from 591 to 591 and another TCP 591 to 591. Now when I go to sharing is shows http://10.0.0.1:591 so I thought It would work. I made a mistake in starting a new topic., what I meant to do was to put the question in the OS X forum as I thought it might be a MAC problem. I might have to put my PC XP on the to see if It serves.
  12. Can anyone test this to see Thanks in advance http://121.221.3.87/fmi/iwp
  13. Hi Genix, can you try this agin please http://121.221.3.87/fmi/iwp
  14. Ok I will load cd that came with the gateway/modem/router and if im not in this forum for several weeks , you will know that I have disconnected myself from the internet by new settings Here Goes ..... wooooooo
  15. Yes I agree. I have made one with two tables with just with ID's so don't have to self join. I am new to FM so am still thinking in Access. But have the tricks in theory
  16. You could have a calculated field = Job_ID & Sub_ID With the Sub_Tasks: Each Sub_Task has a "Belong_To" field and so each Sub_Task belongs to a Sub_Task. That now means that a Sub_Task can have "child records" ie all The Sub_Tasks that have the belong_to ID of the current Sub_Task. This will give you any depth of subtasks just like a tree.
  17. I have FileMaker pro 8.5 and get a timeout when I go online to see my test application on the web at another site. I publish and can see it from my browser at http://10.0.0.1:591/fmi/iwp/cgi?-db=Task%20Management&-loadframes I have a DSL modem, no internal network, OS X Any suggestions apreciated
  18. I have a Residential Gateway ie all in one box: wireless, modem, router, VoIP, and firewall. So I will have to do a lot of google to find the problem
  19. I honestly know nothing about Internet and routers modems etc. I do know Java, SQL, MS Access. It is connected via ethernet cable not usb
  20. No, I assume you mean my BigPond 2Wire Modem 2071a. I did not know that port forwarding was about the Modem so I will try to find out how to do this.
  21. I have turned off Apache Server if I don't need it. http://121.221.3.87:591/fmi/iwp is supposed to be the address. I have just started it and should I be able to see this on my computer or do I have to be outside? I have no Internal network here.
  22. http://10.0.0.1:591/fmi/iwp will get my test app in my browser. Using port 591 as found in FM documentation. do internet people now have to use http://121.221.3.87:591/fmi/iwp. The only thing I can change in FileMaker is the port number As far as I know this still does not work. It is interesting that http://10.0.0.1 would get me the application file page, now it gets me Test Page for Apache installation ?
