We want to upload our server to filemaker server 16 but we have some doubts about how WebDirect manage the urls. We want two machines deployment, the worker in dmz, the master behind the firewall (same as we have in filemaker 14). I have read in the documentation that I can use the url of the worker or the master to point to our solution, but I don´t know if the url is going to change from one machine to another and if it is necessary to have both fqdn in a public dns or just with one of them as happens in FM14 is enough.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello again, I am doing a test installation and the only way I have found to access without problems to the web is when the master url is used. When I try to access with the worker I see the dabatabases in https://worker.mydomain.com/fmi/webd but when I select one file it shows nothing, white page without any error. To do the test the two machines are in the same LAN and the windows firewall in both machines are disabled. The problem is that sometimes when I use https://master.mydomain.com/fmi/webd/FMServer_Sample the url changes to https://worker.mydomain.com/fmi/webd/FMServer_Sample automatically. ¿Any idea about why the worker is not working properly?

AFAIK you should always address the master and the master will direct traffic to worker machines as necessary.

Did you move the worker into the DMZ after you set it up as a worker, or was it already in the DMZ when you set it up?

Hi, I solved the problem updating the worker to 16.0.4. Now everything works fine using the worker url, the tech support confirmed this is the correct url to use when using WebDirect and that is not going to change to the master.

Thanks anyway!
