lizardct
Well, this weekend was the big weekend of using the database by the faculty at my school. IT WAS SO SLOW.....any suggestions as to the type of machine this database should be hosted in order to have quick response. or is the file size??? This was an extremely frustrating event. In addition, how do you maintain formatting- such as underlining? tabs? etc. We are using web campanion file size 4.7MB
Anatoli
I wish I understood your problem. All I get so far from your question is "my red car does not run".
Vaughan
Answer: fast computer, lots of RAM, fast hard disk, fast network. Speed is directly proportional to money. Working out what is "sufficient" is the trick of course! Anatoli: how did you work out it's a red car? Must ne an NT thing... ;-)
lizardct
I hear what you are saying.....how much ram how fast...and do you find the size of the database an issue? Concerning formatting- copying and pasting text into fields losing fomatting such as underlining etc. Any suggestions?
Vaughan
Formatted text is a problem. I work on the principle that fields hold data, layouts specift formatting. obviously this makes character- and word-level formatting impossible, but if you can manage it it simplifies things enormously.
