"Pop-open" edit box - can it be done?

Featured Replies

Hi brains trust,

I want to be able to create an Edit Box field where the field will "pop open" when selected, to show all it's contents (to a certain line limit), similarly to the Pop-up Menu but without a pre-entered value list.

Is this possible?

Thanks!

I am not sure what you mean by that (esp. the pop-up menu analogy). By default, when you click (or tab) into an edit box, it expands downward to reveal any additional lines of text that may be hidden when the field is inactive. AFAICT, the limit of expansion is the window's bottom edge. Beyond that, you will need to use the down arrow key to reveal any additional lines.

Note that you can also format the field to show a scrollbar.

Thanks for that.  I'm so used to adding a scroll bar to edit boxes I forgot that they do what I wanted when scroll bar isn't selected!
