Harald Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 hi, I am still struggling with the problem to close/open db via webbroswer which should work with the following settings - remote access enabled - create "cdml variable Tags" with the following statement "http://1.2.3.4/FMPro?-Db=01_pon.fp5&-format=dbclose.htm&-dbclose" Ok and great, but: what exactly is the dbclose.htm file? why do I need this file? what is defined in that file? where should this file be stored? in the webfolder? anyone out there who could give me some hints? thank you in advance harald
cjaeger Posted April 29, 2003 Posted April 29, 2003 i suppose FileMaker has to go somewhere after closing a db, like a thank-you page after form submit. Otherwise - what would be on screen? We do not want to force-open the db we just closed, do we?
Harald Posted April 29, 2003 Author Posted April 29, 2003 hi cjaeger, yes - we do want to reopen the desired db! thats because a few times a day the most important db crashes (still working via direct access but not accessible via the web browser...) so therefore i wanted to give a special user the privilege to close/open the database without sitting in front of the server hosting the (crashed) db's! so why not using this web-based facility to reopen the db? greetings harald
