LaRetta Posted July 9, 2003 Posted July 9, 2003 Ooops! I forgot my ALL-TIME FAVORITE ... ProDraw Graphics Web Buttons Buttons are gorgeous!! LaRetta
Anatoli Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 I am using just one bitmap button and on slow VPN it takes 2-3 seconds to redraw The whole layout doesn't take much longer to render. If your database will be used one day remotely, then you will regret all "fancy buttons".
Leb i Sol Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 "fancy buttons" -- can be designed so they carry only a few K of info....now u could also D/L some free buttons and be left at the mercy of the desinger's prefernce on the file-type-size......take a look at the .zipped up files for the diff. buttons.zip
LaRetta Posted November 16, 2003 Posted November 16, 2003 Hi Alen, Photoshop for sure! Since I discovered glass buttons I'm a bit hooked, I'm afraid. Thanks for turning me on to that program and for all the help you've given me. And I missed this download of yours! You can bet I'll be checking it out this weekend. BTW, a while back someone asked about a graphics db I have and would I be willing to share it? Well, I can't find that post again. I honestly don't know if it was a month or six months ago (I've been a bit nuts-busy this year). But I would be happy to share my 14,650 graphics with the person that requested it. Zipped, it's 41 mb. I had meant to respond but, well, I didn't have time in the moment and then ... I forgot. I had stopped working on the graphics db when I got Photoshop because why store buttons when I can create them! But then I read about storage & file-size issues and decided to figure it out before I stored another 14,000 grahics which may be 'incompatible, size-hogging' pics. But mixed through the db, are some great graphics. You'll need tenacity to view them all and some are duplicates. Anyway, Alen's demo might help me fill in some missing pieces with my graphics concerns (as indicated by Anatoli and others on many forums) and then I can categorize and group and finish my graphics db! Lefo Posted November 18, 2003 Posted November 18, 2003 I use eClick from http://www.kineticcreations.com/eclick/index_mac.html . They have a Windows version as well. Costs $25, but you can do a lot with each button as far as sizing, coloration and text handling. You can create very high quality low file size images with eClick HTH Lefo
Leb i Sol Posted February 5, 2004 Posted February 5, 2004 Hi LaRetta! The Optimazation in PhotoShop & Image Ready is really not that much work and if you have the means why not do it, right! Ones you have your setting at desired levels all you have to do is Save As For The Web....and optimization settings will appear. Here is a quick screen shot attached, but I am sure that after a while you will find what suits your needs. The options are set for the "web" but it's a good scale for solutions that will be accessed over the WAN.... let me know how your PS time goes and if u need some specific help.... Take care!
