gowrann Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 I have a IWP enabled site which works perfectly apart from a value list - when the value list is edited through a browser ie checked and submitted - a dialog box comes up "Data Entry Error - Your Attempt to save changes to the following record failed because of - Unknown Error 102" The value list is assigned to a field with allow enrty into field enabled - and no validation is required for the field. Any Ideas
Leb i Sol Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 102 Field is missing. a field name in the form was usually misspelled, so Filemaker didn't recognize it.
kenneth2k1 Posted September 10, 2003 Posted September 10, 2003 Another thing I've done is to have all relevant fields on my layout. If field values are based on another field (ie calcs), you may get a field missing error if it isnt on that layout upon submit. IWP is kina a pain. Ken
gowrann Posted September 11, 2003 Author Posted September 11, 2003 The fields are taken verbatim with IWP so they can't be misspelled, I have all my fields on the layout when submitting. When I take the layout and fields including the layout and put it on a separate db via IWP it works?? Why can't the value list work with my original db - simple checkbox list that requires a chack or not!
Unable Posted September 11, 2003 Posted September 11, 2003 "...simple checkbox list that requires a chack or not" CDMLRdb: Check Boxes "This is not a FileMaker Pro tag, This is standard HTML" Are you trying to force IWP to use the checkbox in a manner in which it is not intended? I don't know,
gowrann Posted September 12, 2003 Author Posted September 12, 2003 a value list presented as a checkbox through IWP has either a value or not "Are you trying to force IWP to use the checkbox in a manner in which it is not intended?" I don't understand what you are saying
Steve T. Posted September 12, 2003 Posted September 12, 2003 Howdy! Yeah, it's strange that it works great for you in your 2nd db but not your original. That does, however, seem to indicate that it's probably one of those simple-but-hard-to-locate things... maybe an extra return or space or space in the wrong place or CAPS vs. lowercase kind of thing. Maybe you should use the copy that works and EXPORT/IMPORT all the data into the new shell?--ST
