Formatting Multi-Line Filemaker DB Text..........

Featured Replies

boxes in web pages. I am using CDML to display the information from multi-line Filemaker text fields. I would like to include things like bolding, paragraphs etc. to format the text that is presented on the web page. Any assistance would be much appreciated.

You can try:

[FMP-Field: myfield,format]

You can also use:

[FMP-Field: myfield,break]

This converts the "returns" to "<br>".

Good Luck.

Hi Garry, we'll you did it again, many thanks!!

Can you tell me where I can find documentation

that would have this kind of information in it?? confused.gif

Unfortunately, the [FMP-Field: xxxx, format] tag parameter is undocumented. However, the rest can be found in the "CDML Reference" database.

I guess that it may not be available anymore on the Filemaker site, however it is worth searching for.

All the best.

Thanks Gary, I had previously printed out the reference database but unfortunately it does not discuss many of these tag parameters. How were you able to come by these undocumented parameters? If you do not wish to disclose this information I will understand, but it is frustrating to know that these kinds of things are available but difficult to come by........... Many thanks,

Anatoli was about the first to mention the [FMP-Field:xxx,Format] tag on these forums (I'm not sure where he got it from). I don't know of any other undocumented features. All of the other information is in the "CDML Reference" database in the "CDML Tag Index" under "Field".

All the best.
