FX.php and FM server 5

does FX.php work with FM server pro 5? and if so how do you get it to work.. (i tried just to enter the FM server IP address in the FX.php config page and it did not get any info from the database. also is there a specific port that FM server 5 works from?.

When you want to do web publishing with FMP 5-6, using Server to host the files, you need to set up Filemaker unlimited as a client to Filemaker server, and then you connect to the web companion of the Filemaker unlimited machine from your web server. With Filemaker 7 there is no more Filemaker Unlimited, instead you use Filemaker Server Advanced to web publish Filemaker data.

You should be able to test this on a "non-served" Filemaker file.

To test your solution - start the database locally

Use 'localhost' and '591' as your http and port addresses.

Make sure your copy of Filemaker is set to port 591.

Also, one for the FAQ - make sure that in FX.php you change the filemaker versions to 5/6.

I struggled for several hours before realizing that FX.php was set up for FM7.
