Steve S Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 is there a way to make a font blink in filemaker? or a trick to make it seem to? I have a check. If field A is empty then field B says "Open". I also have a check that if the record is over a week old and field A is empty, field B says "Open" in red. I'd rather something far more annoying. like blinking. Is this possible? Thanks
BobWeaver Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 No, you can't make text blink. Thank God! If you want to annoy the user, create a container field and put in an mp3 of Willie Nelson. Play that when the above conditions are not met.
Vaughan Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Bob, I can't believe you're giving people such bad advice. The quality of your posts has in the past been a benchmark for me and I'm sure for other people as well, but quite frankly I've been really disappointed by obvious lack of understanding that this answer displays. John Denver is *much* more annoying than Willie Nelson.
Ender Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I don't think it's fair of you guys to criticise the music of these dead musicians!
ldebondt Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 Willie's dead!!! The Texas flag will forever fly at half-staff...
Ted S Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 You didn't hear that Willie Nelson had died! Yeah, he was hit by a car last year when he was playing on-the-road-again.
BobWeaver Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 I get the feeling you guys think I was kidding or something. I'll have you know I was completely serious. Sorry Vaughan, you're absolutely right; John Denver would be more suitable. Or, maybe Rolf Harris and Tie me kangaroo down sport.
Vaughan Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 "Tan me hide when I'm dead, Fred..." yes indeed, and his "wobble board" solo. I know you were serious, that's what has got me worried. I'm pleased that nobody has suggested a looped script that changes layouts or something to give a blink effect.
Sxeptomaniac Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 You know, a bad midi version of a song would be at least ten times as annoying as any mp3. I'll lay odds there's at least one website out there where John Denver's entire body of work can be found in midi form. They probably even play a random song when you open the site without any controls to shut it off, too. (I won't look for it, though... You can't make me look for it! )
