Hello All,

I have a membership database on which i have amended the field sizes. I have also added 5 additional fields.

Since these amendments, the drop-down selections/menus for all the fields no longer give me any selection choices - and i can now only enter data directly.

Could someone please advise me where i've gone wrong, so i can get the database up and running again.

The additional fields are:

Address 5

Ethnic Origin

Mobile Telephone

Date Paid

Amount

(Date Paid and Amount are not linked to anything yet - just the fields have been added)

The affected layouts are:

Current Details

Amend User

New Member

I have attached a .zip file containing the old and new databases.

Many thanks for your help.

Regards,

Hi Shane and welcome to the forum.

It looks like to me that, when you changed your fields, you also changed the source of your existing fields from the Current Layout to Membership history. You need to reestablish your popups to the different fields.

Hi Lee,

Thanks for your reply. I appreciate the help and advice.

My original file worked whilst pointing to Membership History... Could i have i done anything else that may have caused this problem... ?

Hi Shane,

If, for example, you mean that you can't pop your Title popup in Current Details (Miss, Mrs. etc) or Mobile Telephone (Yes, No) , it's because you have unchecked Allow Entry in Browse Mode. Right-click your field and look at your Field Behavior. :wink2:

They worlk on the New Member page but not Current Details.

In addition to what LaRetta just pointed out, I see that you have moved the fields and names around, and as a result, some of the fields are not by the names shown.

As an example, on your Layout amend history, you have a field Name of [color:red]Clock Number B) but the Actual field is the the same as in your "old" field of [color:blue]District 1 (your value list is still attached to it)

Also, one of the layouts you listed as affected, I believe is not [color:red] Amend User but is [color:blue]amend history.

Hi Lee, Hi LaRetta,

Many thanks for your help - most appreciated. The problems mentioned above are now resolved.

I don't know why i didn't pick up on the solution myself, was just getting so frustrated going around in circles...

I've just come back from a month in the USA - maybe my brain is still on holiday...

Again, many thanks for the help. :thankyou:

Kindest Regards,

Shane
