what would make this not relate

i have two tables, and two key feilds in each

date1 = date2

and

constant1 = constant2

when i just have the date feilds linked the portal based off of the realtion works, but if i add the link between the constants it no longer works.

the craziest thing is that i have already made this link 12 times with the same date feils and another set of constants, and i don't understand why this set won't link, i have checked to make sure that the info on each side is the same and i have directed the correct feild to its counterpart...is there anything i am missing or should check

Just in case vich, have you check to see if the field types are the same on each side as well?

What role plays the constant? My guess is type mismatch as well!

Hi,

If the types are correct, then

1. where are you setting these constant values? In case you are opening the database from the client and closing and oepning again then these constants do not get saved.

2. Are these contsants global fields? if not, are these constants getting set for each record?

Regards,

MetaSys

i found the problem...everything between the field was the same...EXCPET that the constant feild 1 was set to unstored and constant 2 was set to indexed, i set the first to indexed and everything worked out
