fmsavey Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 I want to be able to launch a script with a double click instead of a single click. I have a layout that lists records. I want to be able to click on a record to select it without launching a script but if I double click it a script will launch. I know there are alternatives to this but I don't want to use them. Any ideas anybody?

fmsavey Posted January 5, 2007 Author Posted January 5, 2007 Thanks but the demo file is protected even though is says it is not.
Fitch Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Have you considered using a Shift/Alt/Ctrl-click? Those are simple. The double-click will not be, but I'm sure it will be interesting to try the technique.
CobaltSky Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Thanks but the demo file is protected even though is says it is not. Which demo file would that be?
Lee Smith Posted January 5, 2007 Posted January 5, 2007 Hi fmsavey, These files are open source . You might need to go to your finder level, get info, and change the [color:blue]Read only to [color:blue]Read & Write. For some reason, Window will sometimes change this setting when you download a file or move it from a CD to your HD. HTH Lee
LaRetta Posted January 6, 2007 Posted January 6, 2007 Another caveat ... when a demo file opens with splash screen, you can't immediately access field definitions. You must wait until the script finishes. It may appear that it is locked (Define Database grey'd) when it is instead still running its script. Give it a moment to finish and it will be fully accessible. :wink2:
