edit mutliple (or portal) records in one hit

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

I've been searching all over and can't find a simple answer, so I thought I should ask the experts B)

All I want to do is display a list of records in a table (easy) and in each record have a couple of fields that users can change.

At the bottom of the page a button to submit all the changes in one go, instead of having a seperate submit button for each row as I have now.

I'm using FX and Filemaker7.

Any pointers greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,

Sean.

How about using some global fields (with repetitions) to represent the data. Use a script to update the real record.

I guess thats a possibility, but it doesn't sound like the best solution.

I was expecting this to be something that a lot of people do regularly.

For example, it's common for most shopping carts to behave this way, I just can't see how to do it elegantly.

Thanks,

Sean.
