May 8, 200718 yr In MS Excel there is a simple command to transpose data. To do this you copy a row of values then perform a process called "paste special > transpose". Anything that was a row becomes a column and anything that was a column becomes a row. Is there a way to do something like this in table view? What I would like to have is my fields arrayed in column format with all the record values distributed horizontally across the page like a spreadsheet. In this example the text "CUT DOORS" etc would be a field name and the text A:B:C would be values for each record. This would give me a graphical spreadsheet to monitor production status. Any ideas how to do this? Thanks, Jarvis
May 8, 200718 yr I know what you mean. I have long wished for the ability to create "horizontal" portals for the same reason. It would be nice to be able to display records horizontally rather than vertically in the table or list views was well. If your business plan doesn't change much you can display the data horizontally by creating a relationship for each "column" of data and displaying it as a portal. I've even resorted displaying a 10x10 grid by defining a relationship for each square in the grid... it does not make a pretty relationship graph.
