Floating windows on top of others

Featured Replies

Hey all,

I am adding several functions to an existing contacts database (this db is a perfect example of an 'angry fruit salad' database!) And my boss wants a scheduled call back layout that pops up at the push of a button.

Now i built him a simple scheduled calls table and a nice little layout that pops up. Now the issue is that the layout in the background is resized when the layout window with the callbacks pops up.

He wants me to make the button that opens the callback window make the window 'float' on top of the other table, so that no matter what, the main contacts db is maximized in the background.

I do not know how this is possible. But he swears he has seen this in filemaker pro. Can someone please tell me how this would be accomplished?

Thank you!

Hi

I think that he was seen a Mac ;)

unless he saw a screenshot, because he does not use macs none of us do here. We are all using windoze 2k machines

The answer could be here - I wouldn't know myself (using a Mac).

I wouldn't like to appear as the one constantly promoting his products (therefore I am not going to give you the link again ;)), but our LayoutProperties allow -almost- this. Instead of maximizing the windows, you can set them to "full screen", so they occupy all available space and are not resized when opening another not-maximised window.
