Robert Collins Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Ok , here goes.. I have a database with a product table (which holds retail price, description ect) and a Sales invoice table. I have a field in Sales invoice called 'confirmed discount' which the user enters an amount. I have a tool tip set on the 'confirmed discount' field witch displays a list of products up that retail up to the value of the 'confirmed discount' amount using a List command with a relationship that only shows the relevant product descriptions - this works great. I have just added a 'Product image' field to my Product table that holds an image of the product. In my sales invoice table I have a layout that is a letter that I send my customers. On that letter I would like to have the images of the products up to the value of the 'Confirmed discount' The problem I have is in order to show multiple images on a layout the field 'product image' needs have a set number of repetitions (shown via the relationship I already have) but I only have one image per product. How can I show these images at the bottom of my customers letter. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
mr_vodka Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 You can use a portal to diplay the related product images. Put the container field in the portal.
Robert Collins Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Thank, I hadn't thought of that. Iv'e just tried it and I can't seem to get the images side by side - only going down the page. Any thoughts?
mr_vodka Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 FileMaker does not have horizontal portals. However, you can try to fake one. Take a look at these two threads. Horizontal Portals Portal Paging
Robert Collins Posted March 13, 2008 Author Posted March 13, 2008 Thanks, I have just tried creating 8 portals - with 2 fields in each and that gives me what I want.Let's hope horizontal portal viewing makes it onto FM10!
