Good Morning All,

Im a little lost in how to start if its even possible. I have a list of Items that im trying to keep a record of Sales and Qty by week.

so what i have is the following

WK1

Picture---Item number----Description----Sales/qty

I also have WK2-WK 5. I just didn't have space to put this. Any how what iim trying to do is create a script to copy wk1 sales/qty to WK2 Sales/qty, and so one. So basically i want to keep a record on all sales/qty. hopefully this makes sense.

the goal in mind is to be able to see in a list format up to 5 weeks of sales/qty.

the way i see this script working is moving field contents to the following week and contents from wk2 move to wk3 and wk3 to wk4 and so on.

Any ideas...

Thanks in advace..

I dont know if copying this data from week to week is going about this the right way. Give us more of the background of what you are trying to achieve & your current file structure and we'll see if we can possibly show you an easier way.

A better structure might be to track individual sales (item, quantity, date sold, Client ID, etc) and then use reports with summaries by week to present weekly totals.

I agree, rather than separate fields for WK1-WK5, you should create a new record for each week with just a single set of fields. You could then easily isolate any group of 5 (or 6, or 8, or 52) weeks and report on them.

(PS, you almost never want to use copy/paste to move data around. Use Set Variable/Set Field instead.)
