kcep Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 (edited) If the contents of a certain text field are: SALLY WENT TO THE STORE ... is it possible for me to get a calculation field to yield the following result? Sally_Went_To_The_Store Notice ... UPPERCASE to Titlecase Also notice ... underscore between each word I've tried Substitute to add the underscore ... works good, and I've tried TextStyleAdd to change to Titlecase ... also works good. However, bringing Substitute and TextStyleAdd together doesn't seem to work. Thanks so much! Edited August 14, 2008 by Guest
Lee Smith Posted August 14, 2008 Posted August 14, 2008 Try: Proper ( Substitute ( YourTextField ; " " ; "_" ) )
kcep Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 (edited) OK Lee ... I guess I didn't think this would be an issue so I left it out of my example ... SO SORRY. Actually, what I need is the calculation field to read similar to the following for URL link purposes: "http://www.mywebsite.com/Sally%20Went%20To%20The%20Store.mp3" What I keep getting is: "http://www.mywebsite.com/Sally%20went%20to%20the%20store.mp3" Notice that some of the words are not in Titlecase. Sorry for not being clear. Thanks. This post is showing a space between the t and the h on the URL example ... this should not be there ... I've tried to edit it, but it won't fix ? kcep Posted August 14, 2008 Author Posted August 14, 2008 This is what I'm doing Proper ( Substitute (MyTextField ; " " ; "%20" ) ) ... It's not working
Lee Smith Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 It sounds like to me, that you are trying to calculate a file path for a inserted file into a container? Why don't you tell us what it is you are wanting to accomplish, and maybe we can suggest something that will do what you are wanting. If it is a file path to a inserted file, you can use the GetAsText (YourContainerField), and it will give you the File Path. Lee
comment Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 BTW, in version 8.5 and higher you get the GetAsURLEncoded() function.
