October 2, 200817 yr There are many email plugins out there. It's difficult to choose the right one. Using criteria like Server support, IWP support, SSL, Attachments, multipart messages, IMAP, pricing, etc, anybody able to contribute info on SMTPit, SMTPit Pro, MMMail, MondoMail, mail.it, SendMail (digital fusion), 360Works Email, etc.
October 2, 200817 yr You can't go too far wrong with any of the major plugin vendors. I've personally used SMTPit, mail.it, 360Works Mail, and they all work as advertised. Most recently, I've found 360Works support to be just excellent. I set it up for a client on FMSA for IWP. It's also the only plugin with IMAP support AFAIK, although I haven't used that feature. Also bear in mind that SMTPit is for sending only; they sell a companion plugin POP3it for receiving. You probably want to stay away from MondoMail as that company no longer actively updates their plugins AFAIK. (The company I last worked for had to abandon their ccAuthorize product because it never got updated to run on Intel Macs.) AA Reports has a comparison chart -- it may not be completely up to date but it's a useful starting point.
